Branches, A/B tests & Compare: experiment safely

Never guess whether a change helps. Fork a system into variants, test them on the same data, compare side by side, and promote the winner — while your live system stays untouched.

The idea

Good trading is a series of tested changes, not lucky guesses. TalixTrade gives you three tools to change a system with evidence instead of hope: Branches, A/B tests, and Compare.

The three tools

  • •Branches — a Git-style fork of a system into variants: Conservative, Aggressive, Hedged, or a free Experiment. Each branch is its own full system, with its own versions, Test Lab runs and launch. Crucially, a new branch is created stopped, so forking never touches your live money — you experiment on a copy.
  • •A/B tests — run two variants and measure which one actually performs, on the same terms rather than on your memory.
  • •Compare — put systems side by side and read the real differences: risk profile, behavior, results.

The loop

Fork a branch → change one thing → backtest and paper both → compare on the same data → promote the winner and retire the rest. That is how a hunch becomes a decision you can defend.

In-product example

Fork a grid into a Conservative branch (wider stop, lower leverage) and an Aggressive branch (tighter grid, higher take-profit). Walk-forward both across the same windows, open Compare, and let the numbers — not a gut feeling — pick which one earns a live allocation.

The pitfall

Two traps ruin a fair test. First, changing many things at once — then you can’t tell which change mattered; isolate one variable per branch. Second, comparing on different windows — judge both variants on the same data or you learn nothing. And remember a branch is a hypothesis to test, not an upgrade to trust: validate before you promote.

Next

Prove a branch in Test Lab & Proof, then watch the promoted winner in the Command Center.

Reading is free. So is testing.

Paper trading costs nothing and needs no card. Build a system, backtest it on real candles, and decide from the result.
